7 Wow Qualities of LeEco Le 2/S3: Review, Specs & Price (Where to Buy)

One reason to buy a phone with higher memory in this part of the world is that you want something faster and capable of launching and running several apps without slowing you down. And when you spend a little on a phone, you, of course, know what you get.

This is why more and more bucks are being spent on phones every year. The latest, premium, fast and unique phones are packing new things and giving us the speed we want. And we must pay huge for that.

What if I tell you I got a phone that gives me almost (if not) all that for just a $100 (N33,000?

I know what you’re thinking.

You must be thinking those mediocre phones with beautiful outer designs but you have to wait a few minutes for your webpages to open while browsing and retrieving a contact on your gadget will require saying “sorry dude”.

If you've been following my posts on this blog, you must know my target whenever I go out shopping. I want the best for little.

Who wouldn’t?

I Present to you "Letv LeEco Le 2/S3"

I know, the name is unfamiliar. That’s how I felt the first time I heard about this thing. And if you already heard or know about it, then you're reading from someone who has truly experienced it.

I came across the phone where a YouTube reviewer was praising it for its qualities which other phones within this category couldn’t contend with. Then, I ordered the first unit.

First unit? Yes, you heard me. I mean to say, by now, I’ve ordered a total of 5 units for clients and friends who saw the smartphone with me.

This phone will win your heart too if you know what it can do for you at such a lower price.

1. Design

Until some folks collected the phone and took it closer to the nose, they couldn’t differentiate it from an iPhone from a distance.

Whereas this doesn’t mean that LeECo copied apple in any way.

The phone is well crafted with a metal unibody. They give you something perfect for both big and small palms with a 5.5” display.

LeEco 2 doesn’t look like the latest bezel-less smartphones, but you don’t notice this when you have a fast machine at hands.

Except for people like being in the trends, who cares for cutting out all your phone chins? What matters to an average user is the beauty, efficiency, power and durability of your phone.

Meanwhile, Le 2 gets these all.

And talking of the display, the phone is covered in-front with gorilla glass 3 which is well known for its repellency of scratches and strong enough to survive a few drops.

2. Processor

I can say, in today's over-saturated smartphone market, the only thing that sets premium apart from mid-range phones is the processor.

While some phone makers keep using the mediocre processor lagging behind in speed, LeEco was generous to give this phone Snapdragon processor. The Snapdragon 652  which is found in popular brands such as Samsung, Asus, Oneplus, etc is sitting right in the head of L2.

In fact, most 2019 smartphones are still proud of using this processor - using that as the basis for their exorbitant pricing.

In speed, I can only be sure of about one-second difference in app launching time between my Samsung S8 plus and this phone.

Got it?

I’ve never been this impressed with a lower-priced phone.

3. Battery

LeEco Le 2 is not lacking in battery either.

When I tell people all about this phone, they end up asking what about the mAh. Most users don’t get it when I say it’s 3,000mAh.

Most will say, that can’t serve well.

I’ll then be forced to let them understand further.

A phone battery is drained faster mostly due to the poor processor on its motherboard.

Have you noticed that most of these mediocre phones were shipped with 4000 to 5000mAh battery?

This is because they are using a higher battery to cover their tracks.

If your phone has an efficient processor, it will manage your battery well. Therefore, save you from carrying a charger around.

L2 on average uses take me around the clock. And on heavy usage, for 6 to 7 hours.

4. Fast Charging

Another thing that people around here will love is how fast LeEco charger can juice up your battery if you must be running out of power. You will have 100% power back within 55 minutes of plugging. Is that great for you?

The charger uses type C cable. Needless to say, you know how fast type C port can charge and transfer your data.

5. Software

On the part of the Software, I don’t have a complaint.

Yet, I’ve noticed that most people I ordered for would change the launcher almost immediately they had it.

Everything about the software is resourceful.

With Android 6, retouched with a series of utilities and functionalities e.g infrared remote control, you will hardly miss anything in the latest Android upgrade.

6. Specification is Wow

Let’s see why this beast can beat its colleagues in this category.
  • Snapdragon 652 Octa Core
  • 3GB RAM 64GB ROM
  • 5.5 inches IPS Resolution 1920X1080 pixels
  • Battery: 3000mAh, Li-Po, battery
  • Cameras Front 8.0MP Back 16.0MP with LED flash
  • Support 2G/3G/4G
  • Support Fingerprint
  • Ultra Slim
  • Support Nano-Dual SIM

7. Special Edition Version (Le S3)

The L2 doesn't come with 3.5 headphone jack instead used the type C headphone jack. As a solution, there is a version of this LeEco called Le S3 that has type C headphone jack packed with it.
Type C headphone

I ordered this phone for a friend. It’s not until after the delivery that I knew this variant existed.

And instead, this has 4GB RAM plus 32GB ROM instead.

You can go for that if it’s still available. Check it here.

The Let-Downs of LeEco Le 2/S3

There is nothing with beauty without its slaps too.

LeEco L2 is simply beautiful but it is lacking in the area of the camera if you’re looking for something like iPhone or Samsung shots. This should not be a deal-breaker at this price seriously.

It produces good shots in the daylight.

Another bonus I couldn’t find in other phones except for Samsung Galaxy, iPhone, Oneplus, Huawei Mate is the slow-motion camera. You can record your slow-motion videos here too.

No 3.5 headphone jack port.

Headphone jacks are really going into extinction even in higher premium phones such as iPhone, Oneplus, Samsung, etc.

Yet, most people still take it seriously. If you do too, consider Le S3.
